I ended up patching my own builds just to get stuff done (as mentioned in the ticket, it introduced a regression causing the thumbnails for gradients to not always be up to date), but it was easier to work with that rather than wait 200ms-500ms for the screen to update while dragging nodes around.Inkscape is free and open source. I get enough demands for features to be added to the open source projects I maintain from huffy individuals so I fully empathize with the fact that none of us want to work for free, I just found it particularly frustrating that I spent a significant portion of my time hunting down the cause of really irritating performance issue in a codebase that's entirely foreign to me for it to get triaged and ignored for 7+ years. In that case it sounds like the macOS issue is separate from the issue I had dealt with.
